Make it Glow

There is a challenge over at the Make it Crafty Store blog and the theme this month is "Glow".

I really should be doing anything else but this however the image and subject called to me so... everything else got put on hold lol.  Zoe graciously offered up the Festive Lampost on the Facebook Group page for 24 hours and that got the fingers itchy to create.

I created two projects with the Festive Lampost.  Hopefully I will get the other done sometime this week.  For this first image, I have used Vixen Reindeer along with the Festive Lampost.  It doesn't have to be a complete project so for that I'm thankful lol.  I made a mask and airbrushed the background then got to it with my Copics.  I had some major issues with sticky markers and hope I rescued the image.  My bad so... those markers have now got a thorough cleaning.

I'm entering this in the Challenge.  Thanks for looking.

Edited to add
Mr. Snowman with the Festive Lantern (yes... I did it right away lol)

Hershey Kiss Santa (and friend)

Don't hate me lol.  I just need to start making Christmas projects, cards and more to get ahead of the game (that's my story and I'm stickin' to it).

Hershey Kiss Santa Claus
Brenda's (Qbee's Quest) done it again.  A too-cute, so easy project with... chocolate!  Hershey Kisses to be exact.  She's definitely the Queen of Hershey Kiss creations and her tutorials are always a big hit both for their uniqueness, easy-to-follow and very thorough instructions and they are oh-so-popular for gift-giving and decor.  Yes, call me a Brenda-groupie lol!

The latest is the Hershey Kiss Santa Claus and I have put my Shelley-twist on it.  Then I was having so much fun, I "had" to make an elf.  Thank you Brenda for all your valuable time in creating these wonderful tutorials so that we can make 'em in short order and gift them to get big smiles from the recipients.

Stampin' Up Products (all current) used:
Cardstock - Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White (thick), Powder Pink, Black, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper
Punches/Dies/Embossing Folder - Layered Circles, Owl Builder Punch (noses/eyes/ears, "pom-poms"), Fox Builder Punch (Santa's mustache), Softly Falling EF
Black permanent marker for Elf's mouth

30 Day Challenge Completed

I did it and more!  The 30 Day Challenge from the Daily Marker.  And it was so much fun to carve out purposeful "me time" for the whole month.  I generally colour and craft a good bit but not like this.

So here are my colourings:

And then, I realized I had a few, ahem, favourites from the Bloobel Store :-O

Inspired by Brenda Quintana

I saw a fireplace with "stockings hung by the chimney..." and a little black cat . So many possibilities with this one. I adhered window sheet inside the front die cut window and filled the box with loose Christmas coloured Hershey Kisses.

Brenda just inspires me.

I've used all current product EXCEPT the Baker's Twine.  The Cat Punch will be available September 1.

You can find Brenda's original design at QbeesQuest.

I've always liked to decorate a table with little treats and things for my card classes or special dinners but I tell ya... I now look at every punch and die cut with an eye for "what else can I do/make/re-purpose with that" lol.  Brenda has done that to me/ruined me lol.

And so it goes with the Cat Punch. I already had some Hershey Kisses on the table to stuff into my previous make and that Cat Punch was right there staring at me so... a single Hershey Kiss Halloween treat. I'd also use this for just 'bout any other occasion too. Different colours for "just 'cause". Christmas papers for the holiday time. So many possibilities.

This is my design but more-than-inspired by my good and creative friend 💖

A Milestone Birthday needs a Special Card

WooHoo... I was actually ahead of the game and had this card completed 2 weeks ago.

Hubby's birthday is today so by the time this blog goes live, he should've received this card.  I needed to make a special card... 1) 'cause he loves/expects a handmade "gift", 2) 'cause I really, really wanted to and 3) 'cause this is a milestone birthday.

What better images to turn to than our Bloobel?! I NEVER have a plan in mind. No card design, size or colour. Yikes. So I printed off a bunch of what I "thought" might work and sized smaller than I'd like (oh those little limbs... argh lol!) and coloured 'em all in a "neutral" blue. Then stared at them for a few days and obsessed as to what to do or maybe start over lol. I eventually had an idea and used two of the four I coloured. Can you guess which two (scroll down to find out)?

Clockwise from top left: State of Shock, Peek a Boo Lulu, Oh No Nannette, Hand on My Heart and Back to School/Jump for Joy

Oh No Nanette just struck me as perfect for the card front and this retired stamp sentiment from Stampin' Up

Can you guess the second image yet?

Now?

How 'bout now lol?  Yup... Back to School (Jump for Joy) and another word bubble sentiment from the same retired set.

This is a Double Display/Tri Shutter Card and I've done a shaker element with the retired Pop Up Balloon Framelits from Stampin' Up in the center.

And one last pic -

Coloured with Copics; All Cardstock and paper from Stampin' Up; various dies from my growing stash.

Inspired by Star Power

Well, that title is two-fold... my "mentor" and inspiration STAR, Brenda Quintana AND her new tutorial with the Hershey Kiss Stars in patriotic colours for my American friends' July 4th celebrations.  You can see her tutorial here and while you're there, take a look at all the other awesomeness available.  You have an occasion... she's got the table "candy"/dressing!

So without further adieu, let me present my Hershey Kiss Canada Day Maple Leaf!

The Maple Leaf is from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits available from Stampin' Up.
The cardstock is, of course, by Stampin' Up - Real Red

I just diecut two Maple Leafs, snipped the bottom stem and then followed Brenda's tutorial.  Easy peasy!

Fun with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers

I've been challenging myself to colour with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and having a blast.  Here are some of the pieces I've been working on.

And yes, you do spy some Bloobel goodness there :-)

I will come back and highlight one of the colourings and the markers I used.

Push and Pull

These digital images just appeared magically in my Inbox today.  I signed up for the Bloobel "Troo Bloo" monthly subscription back in February and I haven't been disappointed yet.  $5 a month and an exclusive image (sometimes a bonus too - like today) shows up in my inbox twice a month.

So today was exciting.  A code for TWO images appeared!  Push and Pull.  Funny little ol' men that would be perfect for so many projects/events.  I chose to flip them and put them on a Z-fold card.  Push is on the front trying to block the "big day" coming and Pull is reeling in that special day.  If I knew someone with a milestone birthday, I'd add some big die cut numbers on the brickwork on the front of the card.  For now, I'll leave it as is.

Quick and dirty colouring with Copics -
Skin: E50-51-271; E93; R20; E04
Hair: C1-2-W3
Eyes: BG000-B93-C4; BG000-C2
Pants: C4-6-8
Boots/Belt: W5-7-9
Shirt: BG000-C2-"0" (colourless blender)
Rope: Y21-E35
Ground: E43-44

Cardstock and Happy Birthday die from Stampin' Up; Brick Wall EF is Tim Holtz; Nuvo Glitter Gloss for Happy Birthday diecut

It's a simple Z-fold card and I put an extra mat on the backside to write a message.

Thanks for looking!  Oh, and if Push and Pull are calling you, you can still get them if you sign up for the Troo Bloo subscription this month (June).  Two images minimum per month and TWO codes for discounted images... what are you waiting for?!

Celebrate the Music

Angels Hearts n' Memories has done it again... some timeless beauties of memorable musical decades past.

I have chosen Poodle Skirt Cristena and created a quick and simple fun fold, Concertina Card.  I made a few adjustments to the size, but you can find the original tutorial here --> Beccy's Place.  In hindsight, I should've coloured in "bobby socks" instead of leggings but I think she's cute either way ;-)

Coloured with Copics:
E50-51-21-11-BV20; E93
B60-C5-7-9
R24-E07-E09-T6

C00-1-3
E43-44

Additional:

Be sure to check out the Angels Hearts n' Memories Shop for the other beauties from the May release (Rock Star Molly; Flapper Helen; and Flower Child Dawn).
