Froggie Love

So, I wanted to show you the cute card I made for my better half for our 34th anniversary.

As soon as I saw this stamp I knew the sentiments with it would be perfect for "hiding" behind the image on an acrylic window sheet card front.  And the Fancy Squares & Little Things die set created the perfect frame (I even used it to give a little stitching to the flagged cardstock I used for the sentiment and decoration at the top of the card front).

Froggie Friends stamp from Whimsy Stamps

Copics used:
YG01-03-17-67; BG72-75-99 (frogs)

YG01-93-95-97 (leaves and ground)
BG11-000-0000 (sky) with a little Y0000
Y11-R81-83-85 (flowers)

Cardstock is from Stampin' Up; Cuttlebug/ProvoCraft Hearts EF; dewdrops from my stash

And yes, he loved the card [wink]!

Here is a card I created for the Art By Miran Sponsor Weekend at Passionate Paper Creations and Friends.

I don't know what it is about Halloween because we really don't celebrate it/decorate for it anymore but I absolutely love colouring up cute images (maybe with a little "creep" in 'em but not too much lol).  I always loved finding decorative painting projects to paint too.  It was love at first sight when I found this image.

Creative Basics Dies are Versatile

I'm here today to share one of my latest creations with the fabulous Creative Basics dies and embossing folders.

I used:
Basic Stitched Flags (I'm hard-pressed to NOT pick up this die set lol)

There is a half square in the Fancy Squares & Little Things set that is meant to create an easel (or flip fold) card but it also doubled as an extra mat behind my image.  Why?  Well because I'm sure I'm not the only one who "prints first and asks questions later" lol.  I never plan ahead for what I want to do with a design.  Not the colours, not the paper and I guess... certainly not the dies and image size.  I'd like to say that will change but I'd be lying.  I just cut a piece of cardstock to fit the size of the half square, doubled, ran it thru my die cutting machine once, then flipped the die and lined up the sides and ran it thru again.  Voila, instant larger mat!  And if you get it very slightly "off" at the joins, just use embellishments [wink].

I also ran the Picnic Quilt Embossing Folder thru twice on my cardstock so I could get a bigger piece.  Easy peasy with a little lining up/maneuvering!

Image printed on X-press It Blending Card and coloured with my Copics:

Chocolate Flowers Oh My!

Brenda Quintana of Qbee's Quest has done it... AGAIN!  Only this time she fooled me.  No Hershey Kisses.

ROLOS!  Altho' I'm really not a chocoholic, I do like the odd Rolo but was really good 'bout not eating 'em all lol.

So slight problem.  In Canada, we can't get bagged, individually wrapped Rolos.  Only unwrapped, in-the-bag, minis or Rolo tubes which aren't individually wrapped either.  What to do?  Well, if I had had an "inkling" I would've looked in the stores when I visited the States last weekend (now on my list lol).  Brenda had an idea to "sacrifice" some Hershey Kisses and use their wrappers.  No sacrifice here lol.  They were gobbled as quickly as they were unwrapped.  So that worked, and so did cutting up the wrapper from the tube of Rolos but I wanted an easier way (well... that would be finding the individually wrapped ones :-/ ).  I found a box of Reynold's foil wrappers.  They're lighter than regular foil and kind of "soft and textured".  I cut them up in about 2-1/4" squares give or take and they worked perfectly.

With a slight change of sentiment, this would make a super hostess gift, birthday gift, Mother's Day, "Just 'cause", Teacher gift or any other occasion you can think of.  I used my Swirly Scribbles die for the centers as I didn't have the Blossom Punch (now on my list 'cause it is PERFECT) and because I was too lazy to go searching for something else "current" that would work (you could use the new circle framelits or other thinlits).

AND I got to use some of that endless stash of retired cardstock and paper!  WooHoo!  Thank you Brenda [wink].
