Well, sadly, this program's "home" is going the way of the Dodo bird. Stampin' Up is retiring this product and will no longer be offering support (or print services) for it. But... that doesn't mean it can't still be played with [grin].
I have loved this program for awhile but been very tentative in my use (mostly playing with posters, photo-manipulation and FB cover photos). I've been a "closet follower" (lurker lol) of several FB groups and blogs who challenge, encourage and help (yes they do) users of this program. I saw this week's sketch on MDS Monday and it intrigued me. I really wanted to do something like that and there were some gorgeous, tempting design samples that got my fingers itchy. Problem is, I really don't have a lot of current photos (other than my furbabies, papercrafts and copic colouring lol). But had a scant few photos from my son in Europe so... they became the guinea pig.
So, I'm not sure I really know what I was doing/or did and there is tons of room for improvement as I would've liked to incorporate more (like stamp letters instead of plain text) but I kept it pretty simple (it took me a couple hours of manipulation and sighing as my stuff would move/disappear/mutate lol) and hope 1) I'll learn more and be braver (this is only the second page I've ever attempted) 2) others will feel free to offer advice/points of what I could've/should've done and 3) that the MDS Monday blog and/or FB groups will continue as this is such a valuable and helpful group of ladies!
So here's my submission, bravely put out there for all to see.

Great job! Love how you fit the cathedral (or that pretty building) in several frames. Keep up the good work. MDS is awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is awesome. I love the photo in the background, and you did a great job with your vertical photos too. I love the way you grouped and filled the center ones. Very clever! Thanks so much for joining us at MDS Monday this week.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sharon and Tami. The grouping and filling the photoboxes was the easy part lol. Lineing them up... not so much. They do like to shift. But I enjoyed it. Sharon, I have no idea what that pretty building is and am assuming same as you. I just told him he MUST put himself in at least one pic when he's there lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome page!! One of my favorite digital 'techniques' is grouping photo boxes to encompass a single image, and the way you did it turned out awesome!! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteThanks GF! Grouping is fun and this particular photo seemed made for it.
DeleteExcellent page...LOVE the background photo in the background. For your second-ever MDS page... you did an amazing job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane. Really wouldn't have attempted ANY of this without all the generous sharing of tips, tricks and how-to's that this group does.
DeleteReally great page! can't believe it is just your second attempt! Love your grouped photo boxes and the photo as a background is perfect for this travel page. glad you joined us this week at MDS Monday!
ReplyDeleteThank you Beth. It's all about the play isn't it? You and your blog/sharing have helped me immensely.
DeleteWhat a fabulous page, Shelley! You did a great job on it! I love the photos in the background. Thanks for joining us at MDS Monday this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Yapha. Hoping these challenges continue in some incarnation.
DeleteI love what you did with your page! From the mutes photo background to adding a larger photo over several boxes. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteSecond page ever? WOW... very good! Love the full page photo in the background and the way you got that cathedral in several photo boxes... awesome job! Don't stop playing around in MDS... that's how you keep learning! thanks for playing along with us at MDS Monday!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes Anita, second page ever lol. The first I copied Diana E's ? page in one of the challenges on FB. It had a couple little photos, some printing and lots of "space". It takes me so long to do a page 'cause I google just 'bout every element and check all your demo blogs/youtube for tips/can-do's . It's all because of all you sharing demos :-). Thank you ALL of you!
