Flashback Friday

My Fair Lady is the FBF image at Sassy Studio Designs today.  She can be obtained for the next 24 hours only on the Sassy Studio Designs Facebook Group.

She's a beautiful image with a long, full dress but I thought I'd just highlight her face/upper body and she just felt a little "steampunky" (is that even a word lol?) to me.  The copic paper I use is such a stark blue-white I was a little perplexed at first how to incorporate it and truth be told, I originally published her to our secret group without sponging around the image.  Doh! It was just wrong lol.  So I took some light brown (Crumb Cake ink from Stampin' Up) and sponged around the image.  Much better.  Whew.  Saved.

She's coloured with just the Copic E's:
Skin - E50-51-11-21; E93-E04; BV20 (she needed this as I thought E04 cast shadows were too much)
Dress/Hat Bow - E70-71-74-77
Hat - E44-47-49
Feathers - E85-87-89
Rose - E15-07-09

Paper and doily from my stash; cardstock Stampin' Up; gear dies are a variety of Spellbinders, Memory Box and LaLa Land

Stop and Smell the... Flowers

Unky offered a free colouring page/digital image on the AWW Facebook Page this week*, an adorable little pig sniffing a pretty little flower.  I needed something light and fresh to colour so quickly printed it off and did a quick and light colouring then "threw" it onto a card I can give someone for almost any occasion... love "thinking of you" sentiments for this very reason.

Cardstock, paper, ink and die cuts are Stampin' Up product; the dew drops are from my stash.  Colouring done with my Copics.

Valentines with Angels Hearts and Memories

Angels Hearts and Memories has done it again.  Angela has commissioned Betty Roberts of Simply B Digis to create some exclusive digital images for her store.  The latest images are Valentines themed; however, they could be used for so many other occasions.  These images are GORGEOUS and so fun to colour!  You can get your own here --> http://angelsheartsnmemories.com/ and while you're there, wander around the shop and check out the other exclusives that you'll need to have.

So... I got 'em coloured.  Then what to do with 'em... So I had this grand idea to make a small valentine-themed "coupon book" mini album.  What was I thinking lol?  I had no plan other than maybe use some paper bags I had on hand.  So I went to work.  Two days stopping and starting and over-thinking lol.  Eventually I stuck to my norm... CAS (read: lazy in this case lol).  It really was easy... I just had too many choices and wanted to use everything I'd pulled out.  Geesh.

So without further adieu, I present my Valentine's Paper Bag mini album.

Alyce and Lila by Yampuff

On the Kit and Clowder Facebook Group, we have a challenge going to colour up an image created by YamPuff.  It's of our fearless leader, Alyce, and her beautiful grey persian, Lila.  So stinkin' cute.

I would've been done sooner (like several days ago) 'cept this is my 3rd attempt lol.  I was definitely "copic challenged" this week.  The first one, I tried to get creative and do a design with "splotches" of colour then melded with "0" but then trying to shade... FAIL lol.  Then I decided just be "normal" and colour... sticky markers that ruined the dress (thank goodness that's where I started or I would've been really, really unhappy lol).  So my third attempt was going along just fine until my E00 "burped" on one of the legs.  ARGH!  I just 'bout threw in the towel there but it was pretty easily salvaged once I stopped gritting my teeth thinking what'd I do to anger the Copic gods lol.  Whew.  So I literally just threw her onto a CAS card before anything else happened.  Now I'm going back to my corner to sulk lol.

I'm obsessed

With acquiring custom paintings of my pets from AWW (Animals with Watercolour).  Unky is a Canadian artist out of B.C.  She designs her own line of digital stamps (The Eastwind) and this is where I first met her.

I have had 3 paintings in hand now and six currently "in the queue" lol.  To say I am happy with these is an understatement.  I am over-the-moon to have my furbabies "brought to life" in a fun, yet realistic manner.

I have been around artists most of my life and consider myself one (tho' I am a "hobbyist" and generally paint from others books and packets; altho' I have designed a few myself over the years); I know my animals intimately and Unky captures their personalities incredibly.  AND she is approachable and personable.  She has many satisfied customers and I am definitely one and thought I should let you know.  You will not be sorry getting one (or many) of your furbabies (and two-legged family members) in a one-of-a-kind watercolour painting.  Yes, she does people equally well.

I will post the other paintings as I receive them.

You can order your own paintings through the Etsy store here -->  https://www.etsy.com/shop/AWWportraits?ref=l2-shopheader-name
Also, like the AWW Facegroup Page to see more --> https://www.facebook.com/awwwatercolourportraits/?fref=ts

A box of chocolates Hershey Kiss style

Brenda (Qbee's Quest) has done it again and just in time for Valentine's Day!

A heart.  A big heart.  A 22 Hershey Kiss heart!  The instructions are amazingly easy to read and execute (as are all Brenda's very thorough tutorials).  It took me a little more than a 1/2 hour (that included figuring out a tag, finding my supplies - including my hidden stash of Hershey Kisses... just in case lol).

I've hit my "stash" and pulled out retired Stampin' Up Strawberry Slush cardstock.  The tag is Blushing Bride cardstock punched out with the Stampin' Up Sweetheart Punch.  Sky's the Limit stamp set for the sentiment with black embossing powder on vellum.  Tied the heart onto the lace ribbon (the only item non-SU) with a thread from a piece of the Burlap ribbon.

Now the question is... can I keep this heart hidden or at least out of the way of my husband 'til Valentine's Day lol.

You can get your own Large Heart Hershey's Kiss Tutorial at QbeesQuest and while you're there, check out the other fab tutorials.  The oooooo's and aweeeee's you'll get when you present one of Brenda's projects will make you blush.

Can't you just picture a pair of these hearts arranged as a table centerpiece with a bride and groom's initials for a stag or doe or wedding/bridal shower?  Make a paper arrow to lay underneath... As my new favourite Stampin' Up Stamp Set says... "The Sky's the Limit" (available for limited time as a freebie during the Sale-a-bration event at Stampin' Up).

Wanted!

I couldn't resist.  I just couldn't.  I saw this image of Francesca's at Cute as a Button and knew I had to have her.  But what to do with her?  Hmmmm... Valentine's is coming, birthdays (for our main men as well as our horse-crazy daughters and friends) and so much more with a little imagination.

So, she became a "love-themed" card.

The image is Cheyenne.

I am entering this card in the Sketch Challenge at Paper Crafting Support Group on Facebook as well as the "Love" challenge at Cute as a Button Challenge blog and the Crafty Gals Corner challenge blog for the "Anything Goes" challenge.

Coloured with Copics; cardstock and burlap ribbon from Stampin' Up; paper and heart clip from my stash; sentiment computer generated.

Hang In There

I just hate it when I need a sympathy card.  However, I found the perfect image, Hang in There, by MyBesties.

There is a challenge this month on the My Besties Challenge blog and the twist is "lots of colour".  Hmmmm, define lots of colour lol.  Mine is predominantly purples BUT there is also black, white, blue, green and a little red (and of course blonde hair) lol.  So... not sure it's really the "twist" wanted for the challenge but one can always hope ;-).

So without further adieu, I present you my "Hang in There Friend".  Love her.

Coloured with Copics.  Cardstock and paper are Stampin' Up.
